Why did my image generation fail?
Image generation can fail for several reasons. In most cases, it does not mean you did anything wrong. The source image, product information, selected scene, quota status, or temporary system conditions may not be suitable for generation.
Common reasons
1. The source image is not clear enough
Generation may fail if the product is blurry, too dark, overexposed, cropped, too small, covered by other objects, or mixed with a busy background. Images with watermarks, text, collage layouts, price stickers, or heavy ad designs can also reduce reliability.
What to try: choose a clean product photo where the item is complete, sharp, and easy to identify. White-background photos, studio shots, or simple catalog images usually work best.
2. The product information is incomplete or inconsistent
AI works better when the product title, product type, and image describe the same item. Generation may fail or produce unstable results if the title is unclear, the product image does not match the product, or the selected variant image shows a different color, style, or bundle.
What to try: make sure the selected image matches the product or variant you want to reshoot. For complex products, test a small batch first.
3. The selected scene does not fit the product
Some scenes work better for certain product types, image ratios, or compositions. For example, an apparel scene may not work well for food or home goods. Apparel templates also do not support real try-on, real models, or recognizable faces.
What to try: choose a more general scene such as Clean Lifestyle, Minimal Studio Reshoot, or Marketplace Hero. If one scene fails, try another scene that better matches the product.
4. The batch is too large or too heavy
Large jobs with many products, many scenes, or multiple images per scene may take longer and have a higher chance of partial failure.
What to try: start with 3-5 products, use 3 scenes, and generate 1 image per scene. If products are very different, split them into separate jobs.
5. Quota, plan, or billing status needs attention
Generation cannot start if your remaining quota is not enough for the estimated number of images, or if your plan or billing status cannot be verified.
What to try: reduce the number of products or scenes, check your Billing or Plan page, or upgrade your plan if needed.
6. Shopify product or media data changed
If a product, image, or variant was recently edited or deleted in Shopify, the app may need to refresh the catalog before generating.
What to try: refresh your product catalog in the app, then confirm that the product image still exists in Shopify.
7. A temporary service issue occurred
Sometimes generation, upload, download, or status sync can fail because of a temporary network or service issue.
What to try: retry the failed image later. If the job has been stuck in Queued or Processing for more than 24 hours, contact support.
